The Daily Caller reports on this story that should be very troubling to anyone who values the 1st amendment freedoms that we have had in this country from the founding. The Justice Department is working hand in hand with the left wing spin machine over at Media Matters. Now Media Matters has every right to their bizarre opinions of course. But working with Obama’s administration to spin the news in a way that is favorable to the regime is clearly crossing the line. And especially as it involves an attempt to cover up the gun running “Fast and Furious” scandal that has resulted in the deaths of both Mexican and American citizens. When conservatives control the congress again in January, I say we need some serious investigations and some federal charges against these criminals who are trying to subvert the law.
Internal Department of Justice emails obtained by The Daily Caller show Attorney General Eric Holder’s communications staff has collaborated with the left-wing advocacy group Media Matters for America in an attempt to quell news stories about scandals plaguing Holder and America’s top law enforcement agency.
Dozens of pages of emails between DOJ Office of Public Affairs Director Tracy Schmaler and Media Matters staffers show Schmaler, Holder’s top press defender, working with Media Matters to attack reporters covering DOJ scandals. TheDC obtained the emails through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
