Of late there have been a number of people who are saying that The Chicago Jesus™ has checked out. He is bored. He is no longer interested in being President and doesn’t want the job any longer. He seems to be interested only in golfing, vacations and giving speeches at fund-raising events. But running the country, insofar as he ever was doing so, is not a priority. And apparently people on both sides of the political divide are saying this. Republicans are saying it out loud; most Democrats are saying it behind closed doors. But everyone who is not in a coma has noticed that Obama seems not to be interested in the job at this point and is golfing his way through the rest of his term while the world is on fire.
And make no mistake; the world is indeed running off the rails as it always does when American leadership is absent. And with a leftist in charge, that is what you always get. The Islamists are running wild in the Middle East. The Russians have invaded Ukraine. The Chinese are threatening Japan. The Iranians are working on their Bomb. The economy is lackluster at best. Millions are out of work. Millions have lost their health care. The southern border is out of control. The NSA is spying on you. The IRS is targeting you. The Bureau of Land Management wants to steal you cows. The list goes on and on. And the liberal’s President (not my President) is on permanent vacation.
If you are a liberal this has got to be a bit disturbing. Not exactly what you signed up for; the collapse of world order while Chauncey Gardner works on his putting style. But that’s where we are at present. The question is what do we do for the next two years? Conservatives, Independents and even some Democrats are going to have to come up with some sort of answer to this question and soon because the world won’t go away and things are getting more dicey by the day.
